Luis Fernando Prentice, known affectionately as Fernando, passed on July 25, 2024 in Maricopa, Arizona. He was born on January 10, 1968, in Trujillo, Peru.
Fernando was a man of many talents and passions, who owned his own landscaping company and found joy in the great outdoors. He had a special love for hunting and camping and at one time owned horses on his own ranch. His adventurous spirit extended to enjoying meals out and going to the movies. His favorite foods included steak, chicken noodle soup, Korean BBQ, and pizza. He also found delight in window shopping and visiting stores like Cabela's, Bass Pro Shop, and Scheels.
Those who were close to Fernando remember him as a stern man with a quiet yet wonderful sense of humor. He was devoted to his family, always working hard to provide for his loved ones. Among his proudest accomplishments were his beloved wife Jennifer Prentice of Maricopa, AZ; his sons Walter of San Diego, CA, Rocco; his daughter Elizabeth both residing in Maricopa, AZ. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers and sisters: Analucia, Talo, Choly, Rochy, Richard and Thomas Prentice - as well as his close friends Elmer Reyne, Mark Casarez and Manuco Pelaez. Along with his loving mother Teresa Gayoso. As well as his beloved Daughter in law Ola Mohammed.
Fernando's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends are left with countless memories filled with love and laughter that they shared with this remarkable man.
Services to honor and celebrate Fernando's life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 20565 N Homestead Dr, Maricopa, AZ 85138 on August 5th starting with a private family visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by an open visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, leading into the Funeral Service starting at 12:00 PM. The family requests that ladies wear all white and gentlemen wear black pants and white shirts to honor the memory of their beloved Papa.
Fernando Prentice will be deeply missed but never forgotten by his family - both surviving and deceased. May he rest in peace knowing how truly cherished he was by all who knew him.
