Luisa Brito Talamantes, 85, of Casa Grande died peacefully on Sept. 29, 2014, at home, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Miguel Hernandez officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Talamantes was born on Aug. 19, 1929, in Chandler and was a daughter of Isidra Ferralez and Elizandro Brito. She was a homemaker and a devoted Seventh-day Adventist who enjoyed gardening and cooking. She watched Christian programs and loved spreading the word of God with anyone who shared a moment with her. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, David and Seferino Talamantes Jr. of Casa Grande and Joseph Talamantes of Gilbert; six daughters, Julia Alejo of Casa Grande, Angela Gonzales of Arizona City, Lydia Small, Loida Mehringer and Maria L. Scribner, all of Casa Grande, and Becky Jones of Las Vegas; two brothers, Joe Brito of Washington and Alex Brito of Idaho; two sisters, Eulogia Talamantes of Idaho and Modesta Ferralez of New Mexico; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seferino Talamantes Sr.; a daughter, Josie Martinez; and a brother, Lucio Brito.
