Lupe Baptisto

TUCSON — Lupe Moreno Baptisto, 53, of Tucson died on Jan. 22, 2012.
Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Tucson, with visitation continuing until 7. A wake will begin at 8 p.m. at the District 5 Service Center on the Gila River Indian Community. The graveside service will be at 6 a.m. Thursday in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
Ms. Baptisto was born on March 13, 1958, in Sacaton. She was a certified nursing assistant. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and would give them candy. She liked shopping with friends and doing arts and crafts and appreciated anything given to her.
She served on committees and always tried to make a difference at Pueblo Springs Rehabilitation Center, where she lived the past four years. She was a joker and was caring and loving.
Survivors include two daughters, Renee Antone of Casa Grande and Sonya Makil of West Virginia; two sons, Mario Makil Jr. of California and Shawn Baptisto of Sacaton; three brothers, Michael and Anthony Chico of Tucson and Alonzo Chico of Montana; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond Moreno and Shirley Ann Pratt, and two grandchildren, Kalista Makil and Baby Fabela.
