Lupe Martinez

CASA GRANDE - Lupe Martinez, 72, of Casa Grande died peacefully on July 21, 2016.

Mr. Martinez was born on May 2, 1944, to Juan and Altagracia Martinez. He was a smart, caring and loving man, and family meant the world to him. He enjoyed spending hours visiting his family and friends. He loved having family get-togethers for weekend cookouts and Sunday breakfast.

He was a big Dallas Cowboys and professional boxing fan. He enjoyed early mornings watering his plants and late evenings relaxing on his porch. He loved reading the daily newspaper and keeping up on world affairs. A self-educated man, he had a strong opinion on any topic.

Survivors include his wife, Florinda; two daughters, Cynthia Martinez and Erica Smith; a son, Lupe Martinez; five sisters, Sara Maldonado, Juanita Garcia, Maria Cardenas, Petra Martinez and Reyes Torres; a brother, Ralph Martinez; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Wenceslado.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 by the Rev. Ariel Lustan.
