Lupe TarangoELOY — Lupe Serda Tarango, 73, of Eloy died at home on Aug. 26, 2010.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 9 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tarango was born on March 31, 1937, in Austin, Texas, and was a daughter of Santiago Serda and Sylvia Tapia. She was a grocery store cashier. She enjoyed making cakes and tamales for family and friends and loved spending time with her family and lending a helping hand.
She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. She knew most of the people in town. She loved Elvis Presley music. She was the first Junta queen in Eloy.
Survivors include her husband, Jose H.; three sons, Ernie “Chito” and Carlos Tarango of Eloy and Estevan “Stevie” Tarango of Austin; two daughters, Elodia “Nana” Colores of Gilbert and Sylvia Tarango Velazquez of Casa Grande; three brothers, Jesus and Pete Serda of Eloy and Tony Serda of Phoenix; three sisters, Marciana Chacon of Casa Grande, Olga Cevedia of Picacho and Mary Alderete of Eloy; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Tapia.
