TUCSON - Lyle John Sparks, 66, formerly of Casa Grande, died Nov. 9, 2008 at Casa de la Luz Hospice.
The celebration of life will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Casas Adobes Elks Lodge 2663. Burial will be in Casa Grande Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Sparks was born July 3, 1942 in Longview, Wash., and was a son of Francis and Margaret Sparks. He served in the Air Force and worked in wastewater management. He married Angela Ochoa in 1974. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a past exalted ruler of Casas Adobes Elks Lodge and a member of American Legion Post 73, the Moose and Eagles, all in Tucson.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Lunceford of Tucson; a son, Joseph Hammons of Why; a sister, Peggy Sparks of Springfield, Ore.; a brother, Jerry Sparks of Terrebonne, Ore.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Frederick Hammons Sr.; a daughter, Kathlynn Smith; a brother, Allan Sparks; and a grandson, Stephen Lunceford.
