CUCKLEBUR VILLAGE — Mabel Marie Homer, 87, of Cucklebur died on April 3, 2012, at home.
The funeral will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Tohono O'odham Baptist Church in Casa Grande, with a wake service continuing at the Homer home. Pastor Jay Shannon will officiate. Burial will be at sunrise Wednesday in Cucklebur Cemetery.
Mrs. Homer was born on Feb. 19, 1925, in Casa Grande. She was a homemaker and and an active member of Tohono O'odham Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and was known for her cooking, including a variety of dishes. She always fed her guests. She sewed clothing for her grandchildren and enjoyed knitting. She loved her cats and cogs and also sports. She was an avid Phoenix Suns fan.
Survivors include six daughters, Theodora Sockyma of Second Mesa, Dinah Allen of Tonopah, Florine Noear of Kansas City, Mo., Doreen Molina of Cucklebur, Jeriann Cline of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Patricia Homer-Zepeda of Stanfield; four sons, Ronald Homewytewa of Arizona City, Aloysius Homer of Los Banos, Calif., Francis Homewytewa of ChuiChu and Kevin Homer of Cucklebur; 81 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Sr.; four sons, Patrick Francisco, Leander, Daniel and Theodore Homer Jr.; and a daughter, Laverne Homer.
