ELOY — Maria Andrea Benitez, 79, of Eloy died Sept. 13, 2010 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God in Eloy. The funeral will be there at 9 a.m. Friday with pastor Edward Wooten officiating. Burial will be at Eloy Memorial Park.
Ms. Benitez was born Nov. 30, 1930 in Socorro, Texas, to Delfina and Benificio Benitez. She worked as a farm laborer and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved puppies, loved to dance, loved Mariachi music, loved to have people visit her, loved flowers and gardening, loved to fight and argue with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her companion, Vincent Chavez DeLeon Sr., of Shafter, Calif.; seven sons, Tony DeLeon, Vincent DeLeon Jr. Jose Luis DeLeon, Lorenzo DeLeon, Jaime DeLeon and Hector DeLeon, all of Eloy, and Hector and Ricardo DeLeon of Casa Grande; two daughters, Rosa Maria Lopez of Coolidge and Josefina Blair of Shafter, Calif.; one brother, Nicolas Benitez of El Paso, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carmen DeLeon.
