CASA GRANDE - Manuel Alejandro "Manny" Alvarez, 37, of Casa Grande died on Aug. 11, 2016, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in the line of duty as a Border Patrol agent.
Mr. Alvarez was born on Oct. 12, 1978, in Sierra Vista to Manuel and Luz Alvarez. He was known as an amazing husband, father, son and brother. Although he was dedicated to many things during his life, he was ultimately known for the great love he had for his family. He served as a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Casa Grande for 13 years.
He was an accomplished runner, always planning his next three races before finishing his current one. Those close to him knew of his passion for drawing; he was often referred to as an undiscovered artist. He touched the lives of many children while coaching his son’s Little League team. He was reserved but sincere and had a laugh that echoed, bringing joy to many. He was a loyal friend and respected throughout the community.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Jeanine; their four children, Analysia, Yaslyne, Julian and Gabriel Alvarez; his parents, of Hereford; and two sisters, Brenda Canez of Hereford and Nora Aguilar of Vancouver, Washington.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Assembly of God, with Chaplain Nicholas Poole officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
