Manuel Garcia

SAN LUIS VILLAGE — Manuel Wayne Garcia Sr., 83, died on Feb. 23, 2013, at Kindred Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Catholic mission in San Luis Village, Tohono O'odham Nation, by Deacon Alfred Gonzalez. A wake will follow. Burial will be early Sunday in San Xavier Cemetery.
Mr. Garcia was born on Aug. 6, 1929, in Chandler and was a son of Frank and Julia Garcia. He was a veteran of the Korean War and worked as a roofer. He was proud of his military service, was a former chaplain of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10188 in Tucson and volunteered at Southern Arizona VA Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Garcia of Sells and Rosa Garcia of Marana; four sons, Michael Garcia of San Luis Village, Bruce Garcia of Washington state, Manuel W. Garcia Jr. and Eric Garcia of Marana; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
