Manuel F. Hernandez Sr., 80, of Casa Grande died on Feb. 2, 2013, at home.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 10:30. The scripture service will be at 11 a.m., with the Rev. John Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Hernandez was born on May 26, 1932, in D'Hanis, Texas, and was a son of Abraham Hernandez and Josefa Flores. He served in the Army and drilled water wells. He attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, watching TV, especially comedies, going to the swap meet and collecting antiques. His family was the most precious to him, and he had a special place in his heart for the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa P.; a son, Manuel Hernandez Jr. of St. Peters, Mo.; two daughters, Josie Hernandez Isom and Rose Hernandez of Casa Grande; a sister, Lorenza Martinez of Casa Grande; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, John S. and John Hernandez; four brothers, Celestino, Jose, Juan and Gregorio Hernandez; and five sisters, Mary Gardner, Concha Abiles, Angelica Garza, Maria Ibarra and Raymunda Nieto.
