Manuel "Manny" Soliz

Manuel "Manny" Soliz, 68, died on Feb. 3, 2025, in Chandler, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mr. Soliz was born on June 7, 1956, in California. He lived in Coolidge for 32 years and Casa Grande for 36 years. He worked at Central Arizona College for 31 years and retired as supervisor of maintenance. He enjoyed driving the CAC bus for athletic events and elder hostels as well as keeping score for CAC basketball for more than 20 years. During his time as a DJ for KXMK Spanish radio station in Arizona City, he was known as El Gallito Colorado.He loved vacationing with his family and playing guitar. He enjoyed listening to music and was a passionate fan of the Raiders. Watching football with his family brought him great joy. Known as the life of the party, he had a knack for telling jokes and making people laugh. Above all, he adored his family, friends and especially his wife. 

In addition to his wife of 38 years Josie, survivors include five adult children, Senia Soliz of Casa Grande, Manny Soliz Jr. and Adrian Soliz of Phoenix, Vinson Soliz-Fernandez of Casa Grande and Eric Soliz of Casa Grande; three siblings, Juan Lopez of Tucson, Connie ( Ray ) Mejia of Casa Grande and Jim ( Yolanda ) Soliz of Coolidge; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Adelina Soliz; a granddaughter, Reylin Fernandez; three brothers; and a sister.

 Funeral Services will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025, Rosary 9:30 am, Mass 10:00 am, at St. Anthony Catholic Blessed Sacrament Chapel 201 N. Picacho St. Casa Grande, AZ.
