Manuel Luna Monreal, 77, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 2, 2012, at Tucson Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Monreal was born on June 10, 1935, in Mexico and was a son of Jose Monreal and Eulalia Luna. He was a custodian and loved sports, including baseball, soccer and, his favorite, boxing. He enjoyed growing things. He also loved music, dancing, family get-togethers, cookouts and playing jokes. The young children in his family were his life and he always welcomed everyone to his home. His favorite TV shows were "Gunsmoke," "Hawaii Five-0," "The Rifleman," "The Dukes of Hazzard" and Spanish shows.
Survivors include his wife, Manuela; four daughters, Manuela Guanajuato, Magda, Contessa and Mercedes Monreal, all of Casa Grande; three sons, Martin, Miguel and Mardonio Monreal, all of Casa Grande; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jose and Apollonio Monreal; a sister, Ofelia Monreal; and a granddaughter, Rhianna Mena.
