PICACHO — Manuela "Nellie" Leos, 74, of Picacho died on Dec. 13, 2011, at home, with her family by her side.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Interment will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Leos was born on April 20, 1937, in Lockhart, Texas, to Hilario and Carmen Diaz. Her faith in God and strong values inspired her children and grandchildren to stand strong and face life's challenges. She was known for the laughter she brought into her family's lives with her unconventional wittiness.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Joe Leos Sr.; two sons, Angel Leos of Arizona City and Ruben Leos of Eloy; five daughters, Priscilla Alderete of Eloy, Ana Tipton and Teresa Williamson of Casa Grande, Rosie Guillen of Glendale and Carmen Leos of Eloy; five sisters, Antonia Hernandez, Natividad Lopez, Maria Rodriguez, Guadalupe Ortega and Mary Jacquez; a brother, Hilario Diaz Jr.; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Adriana Burciaga, and a brother, Miguel Diaz.
