Manuela Ordaz

September 29, 1940 — January 27, 2018

Manuela (Nellie) Ordaz, age 77, passed
away peacefully on Saturday, January 27,
2018 in her home in Casa Grande, AZ. She
was born September 29, 1940 in Smeltertown,
TX to Antonio and Rita Moreno and
was raised in Santa Rita, NM. She moved
to Mt. View, CA in 1957 and met the love
of her life, Jose Salvador Ordaz doing
something they both loved - dancing!
They continue to dance their way through life and celebrated over
40 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on November 16,
2005. They made their home in San Jose, CA and raised their three
children there until they retired to Casa Grande, AZ in 2004.
Nellie had a successful career as a paraprofessional for the San
Jose School District and worked in education for over 30 years. She
was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic
Church and loved spending her time with the Rosary Group. She was
devoted to the Divine Mercy, Sacred Heart, Adoration every Tuesday,
First Friday devotion, and loved spending time with "The Comadres".
While she had many joys in life, her top priorities were her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them unconditionally
and being with them provided her immense happiness.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Ordaz (Ed Blackshear)
and Lorena Ordaz (Roy Freeman) of Casa Grande; granddaughters,
Valerie Felder, Desiree Guillen and Carmen Ordaz; grandsons, Deon
Blackshear, Antonio Ordaz, Danny Hutchison and Salvador Hutchison;
three great-grandchildren, Antonio, Megan and Erikku; two
brothers, Antonio Moreno and Jose (Vicki) Moreno; sister, Natividad
(Mike) May; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Salvador; son,
Salvador; sisters, Emma Sias and Rosalie Trumbull; and brother,
Oton Moreno.
Funeral mass will take place Friday, February 9, 2018 at St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church in Casa Grande. Rosary will begin at 10:30
a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m. with Father Ariel Lustan officiating.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud, The Gardens Chapel is
handling arrangements.
