Maraya Acuna

UPPER SANTAN - Maraya Acu�a, 44, died on Sept. 3, 2018, at Mercy Gilbert Hospital.

Ms. Acu�a was born on July 30, 1974, in Phoenix. She was full of life and free spirited and lived life to the fullest. She loved to cook, listen to music and dance.

She was a hard worker who was committed and devoted to her community, friends and family. She was a Hashan Kehk Youth Council representative on the Gila River Indian Community Akimel O'odham/Pee Post Youth Council in 1987-88.

Survivors include her significant other of 20 years, Andrew Moyah; two children, Jewell Belgarde and Nathan Lopez of Hashan Kehk (Sacaton Flats); and a sister, Audra Antone of Hashan Kehk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doreen V. Thompson-Allen and Nathan E. Allen.

She will lie in state beginning at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Council Ha Ki Chambers in Sacaton. Wake service at the District 2 Multipurpose Building. Funeral at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, at Upper Santan Presbyterian Church. Burial in Jones Cemetery.
