BLACKWATER — Mardella Avila, 83, of Blackwater died on Nov. 16, 2009 in Mesa.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 1 Service Center, with rosary recited at 6:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Mission by Deacon Tom Swisher. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Avila was born on March 5, 1926 in Sacaton. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, travel and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include a son, Tom Avila of Blackwater; two daughters, Barbara Quintero of Randolph and Mary Lou Hernandez of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ramon; a son, Francisco Avila; a brother, Delbert Evans Sr.; and a sister, Rachel Evans-Pancott.
