Margaret J. Lewis

Margaret J. Lewis, 53, of Casa Grande died July 12, 2007 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.

The wake will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the District 1 Service Center in Blackwater. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Mission there by Deacon Sid Martin. Burial will be in West Blackwater Cemetery.

Ms. Lewis was born July 23, 1953 in Sacaton. She was a certified nursing assistant and retired after more than 20 years. She enjoyed her profession and interacting with the residents of the nursing home where she worked. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She especially liked taking her nephew and nieces to various places and events.

Survivors include her mother, Annie Lewis of Blackwater; four daughters, April and Kathy Valenzuela, Ashley Winters and Selena Alvarado; two sons, Carmelo Valenzuela Jr. and Miguel Alvarado; a sister, Jewel Lewis of Laveen; and four brothers, Greg Lewis of Hashan Keik, Mike, Steve and Cruz Lewis Jr., all of Blackwater. She was preceded in death by her father and her companion, Steve Alvarado.
