In Loving Memory of Margaret Ramirez

May 26, 1969 – November 28, 2024

Margaret Ramirez was love, laughter, and life wrapped in one extraordinary woman. Born in Casa Grande, Arizona, on a warm spring day in 1969, she carried the desert sun in her soul and its strength in her spirit. On Thanksgiving morning, the world lost her light far too soon.

Margaret was 55, but her life could never be measured in years. It was measured in moments—dancing to music with her husband, Hector, whom she married on October 26, 2008—cooking feasts for her family, where the kitchen was filled with laughter as warm as the tamales. Traveling the length of this beautiful country, taking in every sunrise like a gift. Hanging out with her sisters, who were not just her siblings but her best friends.

She worked at Fry’s for 32 years—not just as an employee but as a cornerstone of a community that adored her. She spoke her mind with a boldness that was never unkind, balancing her strength with compassion and her resilience with grace. She lived with gratitude, even when life tested her in unimaginable ways.

Margaret’s love was a constellation, and her family was its heart. She is survived by her devoted husband, Hector; her children, Alicia Chavarria (Gil) and Angela Mena; her stepchildren, Jose Ramirez and Nariana Castillo (Rob); her son-like grandson Chris Mena; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who were the apples of her eye; her sisters Martha Torres, Mary Cox, Sally Heet, Carmen Tapia, and Stella Morris; and her brothers Joseph, Jesse, Ruben, John, and Albert Ruiz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nellie Ruiz; her beloved daughter, Amy; her sister, Gloria; and her brothers, Robert, Peter, and Herman Ruiz.

Margaret wasn’t just a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, or friend—she was a force of nature. To know her was to feel a little braver, a little more seen, and a lot more loved. Her loss is devastating, but her family takes solace in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Amy, their laughter echoing somewhere in eternity.

Services will be held to honor Margaret’s incredible life and legacy at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Thursday, December 12th. Visitation will start at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 9 a.m., leading into 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Casa Grande. In her memory, gather your loved ones, play her favorite music, and tell them you love them. Margaret wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
