Maria Antonia Sanchez

ELOY - Maria Antonia Sanchez, 96, of Eloy died March 20, 2008 at home.


Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. A scripture service there will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sanchez was born Jan. 16, 1912 in Columbus, Texas, and was a daughter of Gabriel Gonzalez and Beatrice Chapa. She was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She was very thoughtful and always opened her home to those in need. Sunday gatherings were very important for her and her family. She loved to read and loved her dogs.

Survivors include three daughters, Guadalupe Sanchez, Irene Chavez and Maria Chavira, all of Eloy; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto, and a daughter, Velia Sanchez.
