CASA GRANDE - Maria Consuelo Dorsey, 96, of Casa Grande died at home on Dec. 21, 2015.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. Rosary and scripture service will follow at 11, with the Rev. Alan Valencia officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Ms. Dorsey was born on May 5, 1919, in Altar, Sonora, Mexico, and was a daughter of Jose Q. and Carmen P. Burrell. A hardworking woman all her life, she lived in Casa Grande for 94 years and was a cook and server in local restaurants.
She loved to cook and was known for her pie baking. She specialized in jams and jellies, chili and Mexican food and showed her love with her good cooking. She loved chocolate and reading historical western books.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Gentner of Sahuarita; a son, H. Anthony Dorsey of Phoenix; a sister, Guillermina Ramirez of Tucson; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Josephina Castro, Eva Camez and Soccorro Martinez, and four brothers, Joe and Ralph Burrell, Alejandro and Agapito Castro.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
