Maria De Jesus Duran

ELOY - Maria de Jesus Duran, 77, of Eloy died on March 31, 2014, surrounded by family and other loved ones.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church by the Rev. Alonzo Garcia. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mrs. Duran was born on Oct. 16, 1936, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Manuel and Herlinda Portillo. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved cooking for all of them, crocheting and going to church.

Survivors include two sons, Guadalupe and Vicente Duran of Coolidge; four daughters, Soledad Nungaray, Manuela Melendez, Angelica Rivera and Martha Duran, all of Eloy; a brother, Herlindo Portillo; 20 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Duran, and a son, Remedios Duran.
