ELOY - Maria R. Olveda, 67, died on Dec. 19, 2019.
Ms. Olveda, a daughter of Thomas L. and Martina R. Olveda, was born on Dec. 14, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas. The family moved to Arizona in the early 1950s and chose Eloy as their home. She attended Eloy Public Schools.
She was a homemaker and had six children. She enjoyed watching soap operas and classic movies. Her all-time favorite movie was "Grease." She loved listening to her Spanish and oldies music and would sing along and dance. She loved to visit with friends from time to time and had a sweet spirit and an infectious laugh.
Survivors include six daughters and sons, Sandra, Roy, Benito and Jerry Olveda and Crystle Montijo, all of Eloy, and Amanda Olveda of Casa Grande; seven sisters, Josie Lopez of Chandler, Esther Reyes, Stella Uribe, Paula Juarez, Dolores Guadian, all of Casa Grande, Rosa Olveda of Arizona City and Irene Burruel of Eloy; two brothers, Fernando Olveda Sr. of Golconda, Illinois, and Thomas Olveda Jr. of Grand Prairie, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Olveda and Yolanda Castillo.
Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with service at 10. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
