Maria Sanchez

CASA GRANDE - Maria I. Sanchez, 68, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 26, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.

Mrs. Sanchez was born on July 31, 1948, in Laredo, Texas. She was an outgoing person and loved bingo. Devoted to her family, she was a very loving person and extremely generous.

Everyone knew her for her helpful spirit, and she was very social and caring. She took pride in her family and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply. She loved to cook for people, especially her salsa and her beans, and she loved to dance.

Survivors include her husband, Gustavo; six daughters, Rosa Barragon, Yvonne Ramirez, Sylvia Dean, Angelica Trevino, Marissa Chambers and Araceli Zamora; three sons, Joe Zapata, Juan Rangel and Luis Salazar; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Miguel Zapata.
