CASA GRANDE - Maria "Terry" Lara, 69, of Casa Grande died on April 9, 2019.
Mrs. Lara was born on Sept. 29, 1949, to Celia and Aurelio Montijo in Casa Grande. She was married to her sweetheart, Edward A. "Ed" Lara, for 49 years and adored her family.
She was known as a jokester and for making people laugh. She loved to be around her family and loved music, especially oldies. She was a classy dresser and fashionista and was loyal to her sisters and a devout Catholic. Formerly a member of the Arizona State Board of Barbers, she was a confidante and counselor to many people.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; three sons, Edward A. Lara Jr. of Casa Grande, Chris A. Lara of Chandler and Tim A. Lara of Mesa; three siblings, Rosemary Nabor of Clifton, Amanda Nabor of Tucson and Lupita Farmer of Coolidge; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her father and a grandson, Noah Lara.
Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
