Maria Torres Hinojosa

CASA GRANDE - Maria Torres Hinojosa, 73, died June 24, 2018, surrounded by family.

She was born to Vicente and Sara Torres on Nov. 15, 1944, in Yselta, Texas.

Mrs. Hinojosa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She enjoyed listening to music. Her favorites were Elvis and Vicente Fernandez. She often made jokes and enjoyed scratching lottery tickets. She enjoyed telling stories about her siblings and her dancing days. She was a caring and loving person and will greatly be missed.

Survivors include her husband, Jose Hinojosa; children Joe Ortiz, Maria Frances Ortiz and Terri Hernandez, all of Casa Grande; siblings Lupe Valencia, Fidel Torres, Lupana Sainz, Josie Melendez and Maggie Antillon, all of Casa Grande; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepparents: Cipriana and Eugenio Torres; a sister, Delores Chavez; a brother, Ramon Torres; and a niece, Paulina Chambers.

Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, July 2, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rosary recited at 10 a.m. Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ariel Lustan officiating. Holy burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
