ELOY - Maria Valenzuela Beltran, 91, of Eloy died at home on Aug. 20, 2017, with her family and friends by her side.
Mrs. Beltran was born on March 6, 1926, in Gonzales, Texas, to Victor and Vicenta (Pantoja) Valenzuela. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family.
She loved to spend time with her family and always put them first. She was devoted to her church, St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, and loved to pray the rosary. She was an avid Diamondbacks fan and was called Ma Mia by everybody.
Survivors include three daughters, Soila Gomez and Elida Johnson of Eloy and Irma V. Beltran of Arizona City; four sons, Ismael Beltran Jr. of Eloy, Ruben, Frankie and Jose Beltran, all of Casa Grande; a brother, Eleazar Valenzuela of Tucson; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ismael R. "Choclo"; a daughter, Elodia Beltran Soto; two grandchildren, Norma Beltran Soto and Arturo Beltran Soto Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Nicholas Smith.
Visitation beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass celebrated there at 11 am. Saturday, Aug. 26, by the Rev. Martin Martinez. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
