Marilee Eyring

Marilee Eyring passed away on January 7, 2021. She was born in Sacramento, California on April 27, 1955 and grew up in Columbia Falls, Montana. She married Wendell Eyring, her second-husband of 30 years, in the Las Vegas Temple. Together, they built "Paradise" on five acres of Eloy desert, where they lived, laughed, and danced together for the past 20 years. Marilee worked as a nurse practitioner, played the organ in church, and served as a temple worker in the Gilbert, AZ temple. By example, she taught her six kids to embrace joy and serve God.

She is survived by her husband Wendell Eyring, Jr.; her ex-husband Brent Gunderson; her six children (Levi Gunderson, Ann Haack, Bridgette Gunderson, Sara Gunderson, David Gunderson, and Melissa Perez); her six step-children (Wendy Smith, Tim Eyring, Darren Eyring, Hank Eyring, Shari Dorian, and Tiffany Hansen); her mother Virginia Gifford; her eight siblings (LaRee Johnson, Kevin Gifford, Warner Gifford, Angela Johnson, Rebecca Newman, Virginia Pothier, Seldon Gifford, and Alan Gifford); and nearly countless grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Marilee’s funeral will be held Saturday, January 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1555 N. Colorado St., Casa Grande, AZ, 85122. Due to COVID-19 concerns, in-person attendance will be by invitation only. Virtual attendance is available through a Zoom link.

The interment will be Tuesday, January 19th at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Eloy, Arizona, 5839 E. Milligan Rd, Eloy, AZ 85131.
