Marilyn Michelle Garcia was a remarkable woman whose radiant spirit brought hope, faith, and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her. With her beautiful voice, she provided solace to many in their times of grief, uplifting her family and friends simply by being present. A vibrant soul, Marilyn embraced life with enthusiasm, enjoying sports, music, dancing, singing, gardening, cooking, and, most importantly, cherishing quality time with her loved ones.
Born and raised in Eloy, AZ, Marilyn graduated from Santa Cruz V. U High School, where she not only excelled in academics but also showcased her talent in track, bringing home two state championships. Her career included positions at MC Davis, Thompson Company, Arizona Training Program, and CCA, where she worked diligently until her retirement following a tragic car accident that left her paralyzed. Yet, her indomitable spirit shone through as she continued to live life on her own terms, reaching out to others through her YouTube channel, "Queen of Wheelchair - Life after Tragedy," and lending her voice for funerals within her community.
Marilyn departed this world on February 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and precious memories, forever cherished by her beloved family. She is survived by her four children: Cary D. Davis, Willie A.L. Davis, Natalie Michelle Garcia, and Fernando Joshua Garcia, along with her treasured grandchildren: Cary Jr., Keriana, Keshawn, Mariah, Ariza, Savion, Andre, Jacob, Xzaiver, Natalya, and Dishan, all of whom will carry her spirit within their hearts.
She is also remembered fondly by her extended family, including her mother, Vernell Stephens, and stepfather, Wardell Stephens, both of Eloy, AZ. Her siblings—Willie Masters and Curtis Thornton of Eloy, Theolph Thornton of La Palma, Openell Thornton and Sharon Thornton of Phoenix, Claude Thornton of Arizona City, and Laverne Jackson and Sandra Reeves of Casa Grande—grieve her loss deeply. Marilyn now reunites with her beloved family members who have passed, including her grandparents Joseph and Olivia Thornton, Mary Lue and Arthur Beach; her father, Willie Thornton; brother Sylvester Thornton; and sisters Babygirl Dixon and Nataline Marcy Thornton, finding peace together once more.
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held on March 22, 2025, at "After The One Church," located at 13325 S. Tacna Rd, Arizona City, AZ. Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, with a Graveside Service at Eloy Memorial Park at 11:30 AM to honor her memory. Though Marilyn's presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, her legacy of love will continue to inspire those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was cherished by many.
