Marina Chavez

GRANTS, New Mexico - Former Casa Grande resident Marina Chavez, 21, of Grants, New Mexico, died in Aurora, Colorado, on Oct. 11, 2014.

The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel.

Ms. Chavez was born May 14, 1993, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She grew up in Casa Grande and graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 2011. She most recently worked as a correctional officer in Grants.

She had a free-spirited, adventurous personality and loved hiking, art and photography. Family members say she lit up a room just by entering and knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Chance Chavez. She is survived by her mother, Michelle Webb, of Casa Grande; her father, Anthony Chavez of Grants; one sister, Hailee Chavez of Grants; three brothers, Jamie Webb of Casa Grande and Colten and Hayden Chavez of Grants.
