Marjorie June Enke, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away on August 2, 2014 in her home with her four children at her side; Debbie, Diana, Denise and Freddie. She was 84 years old. Her kids truly believe that Marjorie died of a broken heart after losing her husband, Fred, in April. They were married for 62 years.
Marjorie was born on September 25, 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado to Frank and Dorothy Berg. Her family moved to Arizona when Marjorie was 15 years old. She attended Tucson High School and then continued her education at the University of Arizona. Beautiful Marjorie modeled for Porters and other agencies in Tucson. At the age of 19, she was hired as a flight attendant for American Airlines. Marjorie worked for the airlines until she met and married the love of her life, Fred. They met at the University of Arizona drugstore, shared a soda, and "the rest is history".
Marjorie and Fred spent their first years of marriage living in Baltimore, Detroit, and Philadelphia while Fred played in the NFL. They moved to Casa Grande, Arizona in 1952 while Fred completed his professional football career and began farming. Marjorie stayed very busy as a home maker and raising her four children as well as serving as President of the Casa Grande Valley Cotton Wives, presiding on the board of the Casa Grande Hospital Auxiliary, and being an active member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Marjorie was an extremely positive and supportive person and believed her family was just "The Best!" She attended all sporting events of her children and loved participating with her kids and grandkids in the annual Sedona Family Tennis Tournament. Marjorie especially enjoyed spending time with her family at their Flagstaff condo and Oceanside beach house. Her family was her life!
