SACATON — Marcus “Mark” Thompson, 40, of Sacaton died on July 15, 2011, at home.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Mission in Sacaton, with the wake continuing until 10 p.m. The scripture service there will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born on June 11, 1971, in Sacaton. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Central Arizona College and later a degree from the University of Arizona. He also graduated from Scottsdale Culinary Institute. He was on the Dean’s List at CAC and UA. He enjoyed dancing and listening to all types of music. He had many hobbies including sewing and cooking and was very talented. He loved to socialize with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Richard and Phyliss Thompson of Sacaton; two sisters, Judi and Tracey Thompson of Sacaton; and his grandmother, Edith Huckabay of Sacaton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald W. Thompson, and grandparents, Katherine Smith and Nathan Thompson Jr.
