Marlin Lee Smith

AK-CHIN - Marlin Lee Smith, 50, of Ak-Chin died at home on Sept. 21, 2014.

The wake will begin at 7 p.m. today at his home. The graveside service will be at 7 a.m. Saturday in Ak-Chin Cemetery. Pastor Marshall Yazzie and Joe Enos will officiate.

Mr. Smith was born on May 17, 1964, in Sacaton and was a farmworker. He was very artistic, loved to draw and loved western movies and books. Always devoted to his family, he had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Lee M. and Brandon J. Smith of Ak-Chin; a sister, Iva Sustaita of Maricopa; and three brothers, Barney Compton of Ak-Chin, Lonearrow Compton of Chandler and George Compton of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi (Smith) Compton; a sister, Latricia Allen; and a brother, Narin Smith.
