Martha Guadian Mendivil, a beloved resident of Eloy, Arizona, passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on October 19, 1952, in Fabens, Texas, to her loving parents Francisco and Guadalupe Guadian.
Martha found joy in the simple things in life – watching TV novelas to cherishing moments with her family, especially her grandchildren and her sisters Esther and Rosemary. Her love for movies, music by Elvis, The Beatles, and The Supremes as well as dancing and creating laughter through her jokes will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Martha also found solace in activities like shopping and reading books.
In a serendipitous moment, Martha crossed paths with the love of her life, Erasmo. Their union was sealed in marriage on July 8, 1974, in Eloy, Arizona. Martha dedicated 30 years of her life as a teacher's aide at the Curiel School, leaving a positive impact on many young lives. Her unwavering faith as a devoted catholic guided her every day.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Erasmo Mendivil Sr., her children Susana Coronado, Edna Contreras, Erasmo Mendivil Jr., and Betty Gunsten, along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Martha now reunites with her parents Francisco and Guadalupe Guadian and siblings Ester Gonzales, RoseMary Rodríguez, Margarita Procela, María Jesús, Guadalupano Guadian, Gonzalo Guadian, Lorenzo Guadian Sr., José Guadian, and Miguel Guadian in eternal peace.
A celebration of Martha's life will take place on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024. A visitation will be held at Valley Chapel at 5:00 PM. The following day on Wednesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, a rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10:00 AM. Martha will then be laid to rest at Eloy Memorial Park.
In honor of Martha's memory and legacy as an educator, the family kindly requests that instead of flowers attendees bring a book for children from preK to 2nd grade which will be donated to the Curiel School.Additionally, the family kindly request attendees to wear purple if possible.
Martha's presence touched the lives of many and her memory will continue to live on through the stories shared by those who knew and loved her.
