CASA GRANDE - Mary Esther Salinas, 91, of Casa Grande died peacefully at home on April 14, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Salinas was born on Aug. 21, 1923, in Sheridan, Wyoming, and was a daughter of Cerilo Macias and Juanita Reyes. She moved to Stanfield in 1951 and married Emilio S. Salinas in 1955. She lived there for many years until moving to Casa Grande in 2013.
She worked hard to provide for her family, whom she loved dearly. Affectionately known as Granny Goose, she loved spending time with her family and playing poker. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and listening to music.
Survivors include a son, Jose Salinas of Casa Grande; a daughter, Juanita Reyes of Casa Grande; three sisters, Mary Nunez of Harrah, Washington, Betty Macias of Sunnyside, Washington, and Alberta Macias of San Jose, California; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Rita Nunez, Lupe Macias and Barbara Saiz; and two brothers, Jose and Pete Macias.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
