Mary Frances Eakin

Mary Frances "Nana" Eakin, 87, of Casa Grande died March 31, 2008 at home.


Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens House, with rosary recited at 4. The funeral there will be at 4:30, with the Very Rev. Mother Maria C. "Sally" Jose officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in California.

Mrs. Eakin was born March 10, 1921 in Oakland, Calif., and was a daughter of Alfred and Lena F. Mendoza. She worked in billing before retirement. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Liberal Catholic Cathedral and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed volunteering for the hospital and care centers. She collected dolls, plates and antiques and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Marlene A. O'Mara of Casa Grande; a son, Gary D. Eakin of San Leandro, Calif.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two husbands, James H. Eakin and Francis W. Eakin.
