ELOY — Mary Lou "Tha-Ru" Salazar, 53, of Eloy died on Dec. 30, 2012, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
A wake will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at 203 E. Fourth St. The graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Eloy Memorial Park.
Ms. Salazar was born on March 3, 1959, in Sacaton. She graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School and played basketball there for four years. A farmworker, she was a hardworking single parent until health problems prevented her from working. She loved Bruce Lee movies, oldies music and dancing, but most of all being with her family and friends, especially her best friend Dora Vidal.
Survivors include three daughters, Toni Salazar, Jessica Salazar and Rachel Silvas of Eloy; three sons, Michael Silvas, Frank Sandoval Jr. and Eddie J. Ysaguirre, all of Eloy; her father, Thomas Salazar of Maine; three brothers, Ronald Tiznado of Eloy, Andrew Guadian of Bakersfield, Calif., and Tommy Salazar of Maine; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Mary Helen and Miguel Guadian; a son, Marcos Silvas Jr.; a brother, Miguel Guadian Jr.; grandparents, Jose and Margaret Listo; and her fiance, Louis Garcia.
