Mauricia G. Mejia, 95, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 14, 2011, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Mejia was born on Sept. 22, 1915, in Brownsville, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and embroidery and was a seamstress. She loved spending time with the children in her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Sanchez of Tucson and Enedelia Mejia-Estrada of Casa Grande; four sons, Tomas and Noe Jose Mejia Sr. of Casa Grande, Rene Mejia of Mesa and Omar Mejia of Sahuarita; a sister, Beatrice G. Staggs of Delmita, Texas; a brother, Cresencio Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, Texas; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cresencio; a son, Manuel Mejia Sr.; a brother, Jose Gutierrez; a grandchild, Noe J. Mejia Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Cipriano Melendez Jr.
