Max Nielsen

Max Donald Nielsen, 86, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 17, 2011, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
The memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Trekell Building, with Bishop Manuel L. Leybas officiating.
Mr. Nielsen was born on June 7, 1925, in Lincoln, Idaho, and was a son of Peter C. Nielsen and Nora Longhurst. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was self-employed in the oil and gas industry. He was honest, hardworking and devoted to his family and was an active member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Reeda S.; a daughter, Nancy Stone of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons, Allen Nielsen of McKinney, Texas, and Douglas Nielsen of Safford; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Karl Nielsen; four brothers; and two sisters.
