SACATON - Melvin Davis Jr., 56, of Sacaton died Dec. 7, 2008 at RTA Hospice House in Casa Grande.


Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the District 3 Service Center. The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton, with the Rev. Richard Blackwater and the Rev. John Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born in Sacaton. He worked in maintenance. He enjoyed bead work crafts, working on cars and cruising in them, and listening to chicken scratch and religious music.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne; a daughter, Renae Davis of Blackwater; two brothers, Delvin Davis of Eloy and Calvin Davis of Casa Blanca; four sisters, Cathy Ahmsaty of Casa Blanca, Melvadine Miguel of Stotonic, Marcia Mendoza of Blackwater and Lavena Blaine of Sacaton; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elise Johnson and Melvin Davis Sr.; two brothers, Titus and Cedric Davis; and a sister, Gracia Davis.
