Mercedes Ramirez

Mercedes S. Ramirez, 83, died on March 9, 2011, at home.
The memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Casa Grande.
Mrs. Ramirez was born on Sept. 24, 1927, in Waco, Texas, and was a daughter of Timoteo and Flora Soto. Her husband’s work and her family brought her to Casa Grande in the mid-1960s, to live at the West Coast Land & Cattle Co. site. She made some good friends while working at Sofia’s and Mi Amigo Ricardo restaurants before retiring.
Serving Jehovah gave her joy. She loved the companionship and all the activities of her congregation.
Survivors include two daughters, Adriana Villaescusa of Catalina and Lupe Omori of Riverside, Calif; two sons, Rene Soto of Eloy and Hector Ramirez of Arizona City; a sister, Sofia Preciado of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose M.; two sisters, Esperanza and Aurelia Soto; two brothers, Manuel and Raul Soto; and a granddaughter, Viviana Omori.
