Merleane Pineset

Merleane Pineset, 89, of Casa Grande died on May 16, 2015, at home.

Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at First Assembly of God. The funeral will follow at 1, with Pastor C.C. Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Pineset was born on March 23, 1926, in Carthage, Texas, and was a daughter of Buffalo Haggins and Lilly Wingo. She was a rehabilitation technician before retirement and was the oldest member of Greater Evangelist Temple Church of God in Christ and the church mother.

She was in charge of hospitality, sang in the choir and also served as church secretary. She enjoyed fishing and gardening but most of all loved her family and friends. She opened her house to many.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Tyler of Phoenix, Floria A. Pineset of Casa Grande and Sharon Hawkins of Las Vegas; two sons, Robbie Dosty of Phoenix and Abe Pineset of Yuma; a sister, Ruby Coker of Phoenix; 27 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezekiel; a son, Wilson Roland; a daughter, Linda Sampson; two brothers; and three sisters.
