Merlene Susana Brewer, 60, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 27, 2014, at home.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 11. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 by the Rev. Ariel Lustan.
Ms. Brewer was born on May 23, 1954, in Espa�ola, New Mexico. She was a hairdresser and cosmetology teacher for more than 30 years and lived in her home for 28 years. She was devoted to her family and friends.
Selfless and lovable, she received a bachelor’s degree in health care administration, her biggest achievement. The last few years she was a foster mother and preschool teacher. She loved to play softball and bowl and also liked to travel to Colorado and New Mexico to visit her big family. On weekends she enjoyed being outside and watching her family swim in her pool.
Survivors include two daughters, Freda Martinez of Casa Grande and Renee Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three sons, Angelo Martinez of Colorado Springs, Jeffrey and Axel Brewer of Casa Grande; six sisters, Rose Mijares of New Mexico, Gloria Duran, Jenny McDaniel, Cruzita DeHerrera, Ernastine Jacquez and Rhonda Martinez, all of Colorado; three brothers, Andrew Archuleta of Utah, Ray Archuleta of New Mexico and Frank Archuleta of Phoenix; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Josephina Archuleta.
