SACATON FLATS - Michael Dewitt Nathan Flores, 43, of Sacaton Flats died peacefully on Oct. 4, 2016, in Mesa.
Mr. Flores was born on Feb. 6, 1973, in Sacaton. He went to school in Coolidge and was a high school wrestler and football player. He later worked for the Gila River Indian Community as a mail clerk.
He was known as a kind, generous, loving and outspoken man and enjoyed conversations with family and friends. A fan of the Arizona Wildcats and Dallas Cowboys, he loved to cruise around and jam to his varied collection of music. His favorites were cumbias and hip hop. He loved to dance to chicken scratch, cumbia and country two-step. His favorite foods were tacos and bologna and cheese sandwiches.
Survivors include his father, Wilbert M. Flores, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Olivia Nathan-Flores; a sister, Krystal Flores; and a daughter, Joni Flores.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Event Center in Sacaton Flats, followed by a wake until 10 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Mission by Monsignor Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in Sacaton Flats Catholic Cemetery.
