COOLIDGE - Michael Duane "Mike" Haney, 61, of Coolidge died peacefully at home on April 21, 2016, with his family by his side.
Mr. Haney was born on Dec. 19, 1954, in Florence and raised in Coolidge, where he lived for most of his life. A groundskeeper at Central Arizona College, he was known for his personality and character and had a unique way of looking at life and a wild glint in his eye. His smile and laugh were contagious.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and often could be heard talking about his next hunt. Above all he loved his family and friends and had a generous heart.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma King-Haney; two sons and a daughter, Paul Day of Texas, Brandon and Jessica King of Coolidge; and two sisters, Constance and Shannon Haney of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Haney.
The celebration of life will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at New Journey Worship Center in Casa Grande, with Pastor David Rodriguez officiating. A reception will follow at the home of Constance and Clifton Haney.
