Minnie Mae Douglas, 65, of Eloy died Nov. 13, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Visitation was Nov. 17 at the Eloy Church of Christ. The funeral followed, with Eddie Williams officiating. Burial was in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Douglas was born Feb. 17, 1943 in Okemah, Okla. She moved to Eloy in 1948 and attended Santa Cruz Valley Union High School. She met Ollie Douglas in Eloy, and they were married on Aug. 24, 1964. She was very outgoing and loved sports. She was an assembly line packer.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four sons and daughters, Joseph Douglas of Eloy, James Douglas of Casa Grande, Vince Douglas of Phoenix and Marcia Douglas of Eloy; her mother, Olivia Shelton; sisters and brothers, Bertha Thornton and Lucille Ellis of Eloy, Mary Ann Thornton, Josephine Starlings and Marlene Sullivan of Phoenix, Betty Gant and Darlene Boles of Arizona City, Charles Etta Blair and Ricky Shelton of Eloy; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Thornton; her stepfather, Joseph Shelton; and two brothers, Willie and Freddie Thornton.
