SACATON - Monica Elaine Sanchez-Flores, 58, died on Oct. 18, 2018.
Ms. Sanchez-Flores was born on July 24, 1960, to R. Leslie Manuel and Sally (Garcia) Rivers in Sacaton. She enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren, being outdoors, playing chair volleyball and doing puzzles with her mom. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She was a certified nursing assistant in Phoenix-area nursing homes for many years. She also worked for Gila River Casinos and at Sacaton Super Mart in later years before retiring. She was known for her cooking and baking and devotion to family and friends.
Survivors include her mother; a daughter, Josette Sanchez of Sacaton; three siblings, Julie, Leslie and Julius Manuel; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Joel Manuel; her paternal grandparents, George and Agnes (Porter) Manuel; and maternal grandparents, Miguel and Clara (Anton) Garcia. Her sister Felicia Manuel died on Oct. 22.
Service at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, at the District 3 Service Center. Graveside service at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, in Sacaton East Cemetery.
