SACATON — Myrtle E. Marrietta, 74, died on Jan. 9, 2013, at Caring House.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the District 2 Service Center, with rosary recited at 6:15. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Mission by Monsignor Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in Sacaton Flats Cemetery.
Ms. Marrietta was born on March 29, 1938, in Sacaton Flats and was a daughter of Joseph P. Marrietta and Josephine Cook. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Victory Mission. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include five daughters, Verona Williams of Blackwater, Catherine Thomas and Helen Ramirez of Sacaton Flats, Georgine Thomas of Sacaton and Iona Thomas of Casa Grande; a son, Cecil Marrietta of Zuni, N.M.; two sisters, Lavina Marrietta of Sacaton and Merle Marrietta of Santan; three brothers, Mitchell Marrietta of Casa Blanca, Phillip Marietta of Sacaton Flats and Leander Marrietta of Phoenix; 34 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond and Niles Thomas, and a daughter, Loraine Thomas.
