CASA GRANDE - Nancy Elizabeth Rhyan, 80, of Casa Grande died peacefully on Jan. 9, 2018, at home with her family.
Mrs. Rhyan was born on July 29, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, to David and Frances (Radekin) Fravel. In December of 1956 she married the love of her life, John Rhyan, with whom she spent 49 years and raised a family of five daughters. They were members of the Suffolk Sheep Association and Casa Grande Christian Church, now called Compass Christian Church, since 1968.
She worked for 20 years in the Casa Grande Elementary School District at Palo Verde and Cholla schools as a cafeteria cashier. She loved seeing the kids every day, and they brought a smile to her face. She enjoyed life, especially traveling with her family to livestock shows, teaching her children how to cook and above all, being a granny. She was devoted to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Roger Fravel; and a sister, Judith Fravel. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Fitzpatrick, Janet Rhyan, Teresa Woehlecke, Brenda Baker and Tracy Anders; a brother, Clyde Fravel of Sunbury, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at Compass Christian Church of Casa Grande, with funeral at 11. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
