Nancy Kay Zales, born on March 12, 1945, in Franklin, IN, has peacefully passed away on February 27, 2024, in Casa Grande, AZ. She was a beloved wife to Walter "Walt" Zales and a cherished mother to her sons Chris and Tim Zales. Nancy's legacy extends beyond her immediate family as she leaves behind her brothers Paul Poe, Steve Poe, her sisters Marta Pollack, Susan Mandraes, and Sally Hervey. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Emerson Poe and Martha Poe.
Nancy was a woman of many passions, talents and accolades one of her proudest acknowledgements is receiving St. John's Regional Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 1994. Having a strong sense of community is something Nancy took great pride in and receiving that award is something her family is very proud of. She found joy in cake decorating, participating in the Daughters of the American Revolution, engaging with the Boy Scouts community, and expressing her creativity through quilting. Her dedication to these hobbies enriched the lives of those around her and brought warmth to all who knew her. She was also involved in many clubs including Apache County Fair, Christian Women's Club, Parish Council, Catholic Ladies Organization.
The services to honor Nancy's life will take place on March 27, 2024. A Prayer Service will be held at 1:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at Casa Grande - Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel located at 525 N Peart Road, Casa Grande, AZ 85122.
Nancy Kay Zales will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love for her family, and her passion for spreading joy through her various interests. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she has left behind an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in her life's journey.
